Given the significance of entrepreneurship, especially for youth, in harnessing resources and becoming job creators instead of job seekers, Project PRERNA has been launched to create entrepreneurship awareness among students of selected schools in western Uttar Pradesh. Children need to be caught young; they need to be oriented to entrepreneurship, as a career, at a young age. Against this backdrop, Project PRERNA is targeting 15 schools from western Uttar Pradesh under a holistic process wherein the teachers and students getting trained to strengthen their capabilities in planning and implementing entrepreneurship development. The Implementing Partner, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad is identifying schools and training students through two-days Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs. The expert team from EDII will guide and provide support with all necessary inputs to the participants.

Target Beneficiary

The PRERNA Project is focused on the entrepreneurial ecosystem development activities in the schools of western Uttar Pradesh. Under this project, the school teachers and students studying in class 8th to class 10th standard are targeted for awareness and training under PRERNA Project.

Outcome

  • Teachers from schools get trained to promote school entrepreneurship through a 5-day Capacity Building Program for Teachers
  • 1500 students will become aware of entrepreneurship as a career opportunity, subsequently.
  • The spirit of innovation and entrepreneurial competencies will be induced among children and they will be encouraged to come up with business ideas. 100 best ideas will be identified, and students and teachers will further develop them into viable business opportunities.
  • A digital platform is getting developed for students and schools to get information about new ideas, school entrepreneurship and support ecosystem
  • Entrepreneurship will ultimately get established as a natural career option among students, parents and society at large.

Impact

1.   Orientation of school students towards creative thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship.

2.   The 15 EAPs oriented minimum 30 school teachers and FDP program oriented 32 school teachers, now they are well
